Dinner at 67PM. Somewhat light weight and lacking in depth. Quite average on the whole. Perhaps my expectations were too high. The second wine Segla 2009 was meaningfully better in my book. 2 years after the Wertheimer family acquired the estate so perhaps not enough time for the new team to make a mark on quality.

Dinner at Otto. Initially disjointed. But came together beautifully after a decant and more time in the glass. Full bodied, has power without excessive weight. Deeply fruited. Still has some tannic roughness around the edges. Can improve further with age. Really nice for the relatively modest pricing.

Lunch at Kani Doraku Main Branch, Osaka. Clear like water. Soft texture. Full bodied, dense. Fruity, notes of rich musk melon and honey with a slightly sweet after taste. Really quite lovely. Excellent with the crab course lunch. SMV +2, 16-17% abv. 12/2023 production.
