Dinner at Imperial Treasure GWC. Dark garnet. Beautiful perfumed aroma. Soft, finely textured. Ripe, generous, juicy red fruit. Loads of density, yet light, lithe and graceful. The classic power without weight. Still primary, fruit dominant, lacks complexity. My first experience with this producer. Adds to my overall appreciation of Central Otago Pinot Noirs. (Corrected previous erroneous low score).
Blank Canvas Zoom tasting. Drank in Gabriel Standart. Appearance is clear, medium intensity almost deep purplish ruby colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of dark red sour plums, black cherries, dark berry fruit compote, boysenberry, violets, sweet baking spices, licorice. Developing. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium+ alcohol (14%), velvety medium+ tannins, medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of black velvet, sweet baking spices, licorice, black cherries, boysenberries, dark sour red plums, toast oak with some vanilla. Big long finish. Very good quality, albeit a fruity big black Central Otago Pinot style. Certainly a well made and objectively good Pinot Noir, just not my preferred style. A 'One Time’ wine made in 2018 from a single vineyard nestled in the Queensberry subregion halfway between Wanaka and Cromwell in Central Otago.

3 Winos and a Providore (The four seasons hotel, the rocks, sydney): savoury spice, black hued fruits, slight cedar, meaty notes - slight wild ferment? Dense smelling though. Equally dense and concentrated on the palate - it's a bit much for me at the moment.
