My 8th bottle and no bottle variation as yet for me. Lovely nose and fantastic acidity - the amount of acidity is reminding me of Chianti Rufina wine, but the sweet, fruit and tertiary fruit does not.
Drinking very nicely now, but still quite tannic so will try and drink my last bottles over the next 5-10 years.
Yum!

Have always found this wine a little underwhelming and lacking complexity. It’s good, but I will probably not go out of my way to buy again. They seem to have too many cru type wines that suck away the best fruit from this riserva and anata leaving both a bit sterile

I really enjoyed this bottle, it was well balanced and had the perfect amount of age for my taste - though could age longer and improve in flavour though not sure the balance will get better. There is still some sour cherry flavour, but also rich tertiary characteristics such as mushrooms, spice, cigar and leather. Good nose, but thought the nose on previous bottles was better
Has a richness of flavour that comes with well aged Sangiovese that for me tugs at the pit of my stomach in a good way - not sure if anyone else gets this feeling?

10/28/2021 6:46:00 AM - Brett H....Hi, cheers for the heads up on the Gini Soave Classico 2016, I've just had a look at it on the J&B site, it's only around £16 IB before vat. Not bad, I'll get some. There are plenty of reviews on here for the 2016 agreeing with you about how classy it is, some as high as 94 I think. I bought some Pieropan Soave Classico 2020 form the Wine Soc' at around £15, and it was very good. Wine Soc' then came out with their own Exhibition label Soave Classico 2020, produced on contract by Pieropan, at around £12. I tasted them both on the same night, a wee Producer horizontal. Gave them almost the same mark, the Exhibition is a tad drier and just a tad less intense, though £3 cheaper. Both 91+ wine, though, so great VFM/QPR, as the Gini seems to be.

Hi, yip have just ordered some Bibbiano 2016 Chianti Classico Reserva from Exel up North. Cheers, I appreciate the heads-up, thanks for your PM. All round stellar reviews, it seems, classy Chianti at brill' value for money. Will review soon. 2016 in Tuscany seems an oustanding season/vintage, we're lucky it's still available.
