Oh man. This bottle was singing beautifully. Feels like it still has 30 years of life ahead (which it would if it wasn’t for the cork, now fully soaked). I need to split the rating in two tho. Technical rating 93-94. Pleasure rating 96-97, no doubt. I’ve set the rating at 95 for “par condicio”. Opened 2,5h. Needed longer aeration. I had another bottle I would’t wait longer than it’s 40’s to pop. And of course, I would not hesitate to give it more air in a decanter. Enjoy!

Pleasant overall. However if you have a bottle left I suggest to open it now. Need fair a bit of air. Decanted 2 hr and wasn’t enough. The wine in the first glass (which got heaps of oxigen) was already showing pleasant notes. After 1h+.licorice, cardamom, anise and quite intense barnyard, someone called it Brett, I wouldn’t buy it but neither wait to drink if I have a bottle.

There’s one major answer I look for when I read the reviews on this app: if the wine is ready or in a good opening moment to be enjoyed. Well, for me this bottle isn’t in its sweet spot. For high end wines - especially BDX - we all know that patient is mandatory, but sometimes we simply can’t wait more than 2-3 hours… when it happens, I think it is not the right time to open that bottle. 93 towards the end, but overall my score was 91-92.
