  • 2021 Jean-Claude Boisset Pinot Noir Bourgogne Les Ursulines

very light (12%), no tannins to speak of. some bourgogne mineral and dead leaves typicity. touch of spice. distant pomegranate/cranberry. but overall there is a sort of slight licorice sweetness to it which is quite cloying. ok slightly chilled with food, but without, too much like diluted juice. * 2nd half of bottle after week in fridge under vacuvin: suddenly charming. not complex or very flavouful but sapid and moreish. now a balanced light instead of just thin. reasonable value here in Korea but wait a year/or slow ox. would rebuy on sale.

  • 2021 Dönnhoff Riesling Trocken

pnp. started off almost chablis like - mineral and fruit stone. opened to grapefruit and lemon peel. can taste perhaps a touch of residual sugar as it warms up - better cold. not Mosel quality, but so very drinkable and that is the ultimate criterion. will seek out their kabinett as well. *drank second half after a week in the fridge under vacuvin. even more chablis-like - peach stone and LOTS of mineral with the fruit almost wholly receded. like it a lot. a rebuy. good value.

  • 2014 Château Cantemerle

decanted 2 hrs then back into the bottle, drank half over 3 hours. good density, textbook left bank bordeaux. black and red fruit, mint, dry. decent balance and ready to drink but lacking a bit of charm - unrealized potential perhaps. after a few days in the fridge under vacuvin, softer and more merlot dominated. for me, not a big step up from more value-priced cru bourgeois or cotes de bordeaux estates.
