  • 2021 J. Vidal-Fleury Ventoux

    Nasal:
Spice, black fruits, blackberry, smells a bit sweet or artificial like fruit juice. Lacking depth, and not very interesting in the nose, but classic and pleasant.

    Palate:
Immediately hit by the acid. The alcohol burn is also very noticeable. It feels a watery in the mouth. The tannins are present, but can he forgotten due to the noticeable alcohol. It does not last long in the mouth, but leaves a bitter taste.

    Conclusion:
Ate it with truffle pate. The wine highlighted the truffle, exactly because it lacked the depth, but had the classic traits.

  • 2017 Theo Cattin et fils Gewurztraminer Selection de Grains Noble

Notes: apricot, raisins, orange. Deep nose, still fruity, but gets hints of tertiary notes. It got hints of spicy notes too. Classic and strong nose.

Mouth: It comes in filling with a bit of spice, it tickles every spot in the mouth where oxygen hits after the wine has been there. It is sharp in its spice, but has a fatty feeling that rounds the spice off. It keeps flavouring the mouth for a long time. After swallowing the pallet becomes tart. It is naturally very sweet as well, which ties the wine together so you immediately yearn for another glass.

A delicious glass. It is lovely to drink, and it captures the essence of wine with botrytis. For its price it is an amazing wine, and I would recommend everyone to try it at least once.

  • 2022 Domaine Combier Crozes-Hermitage Blanc

Notes: green apple, mango, fresh soil, pine tree/pine needles, very pleasant nose, with an interest balance of notes, that gives it a fresh but interesting aromatic composition.

Mouth: high acid, burns slightly while in the mouth. Heavy acidity almost like grapefruit, but not as bitter as pinot gris. The alcohol is 13% but the feeling of alcohol stands clear in the mouth after swallowing, which goes well with the bitterness.

Definitely drinkable now, and already seems very well developed. A pleasant and strong glass.
