Nothing that will change your world, but this was a rather pleasing glass of SlB pinot noir. It's nicely in the pocket in terms of maturity, but I see no rush to drink these either.

Vineyard Gate: 2007 Savigny-les-Beaune from Camus-Bruchon; 2/19/2010-2/20/2010 (Millbrae, CA): Seductive, heady aroma of dark fruit that jumps from the glass. Palate has excellent concentration and balance with ripe, yet restrained, berry fruits. Not much individuality in this wine--that's why its village, I suppose--but a pure joy to drink now and for the next several years.

Smooth, mature but not tired, lovely black cherry fruit with cocoa and saddle leather. Fine showing for a bottle that was I believe $20. B+

Probably didn't give it enough air, but my guests & I were not impressed. It was flat and lacking in fruit.

A tale of two walks: Ladoix and Savigny (Côte de Beaune, France): Great nose and nice dark red fruits and smoke. Good balance.
