This blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc and 5% Merlot always rewards aging and never disappoints. Clear, medium (+) ruby with some garnet on the rim. The nose is clean, medium (+) in intensity and surprisingly youthful. Captivating aromas of cassis, blackberries, red cherries, dried herbs and some well integrated vanilla and oak spice. The palate is dry, but with good fresh fruit. The acidity is medium to medium (+) as are the tannins. The alcohol is medium (+) to high (14.2%) but not noticeable. The mouthfeel is rich and smooth. This is full-bodied, international-style Bordeaux blend, with medium (+) to pronounced flavor intensity, a long finish, great balance and an Old-World elegance. To me, it tastes more Italian than it does French of Californian. I would think that it is at its peak now, but should be fine through at least 2020. It provides excellent QPR.

A nose of dark fruits and spice, dark purple in color. A medium to full bodied red blend, with blackberry, black cherry, chocolate and spices on long finish, drinking well now. www.winelx.com

Had this with a nice filet mignon. A bit of barnyard and green pepper on the palate. Tannins still a little closed but not sure they'll open a lot more with age. I've got a second bottle so we'll see in a year or two's time.
