  • This one is made from young Ruchottes vines. Not too many vintages of Gevrey village made after this.
Very clean and pure in colour. A vibrancy and shimmer. Quite muted and closed in open; but became much more expressive after 15 mins or so in the glass. Lovely wild strawberry on the palate.
Soft and elegant in the palate.
Not overly complex, but very enjoyable.

  • 3/6, excellent cork. Pale/medium ruby, pale garnet rim. Pure purple fruits on the nose, aromatic, hint of earth. Medium bodied, pure fruited, touch of spice, soft, round tannins, some richness and body, vibrant acidity, carries well on the finish. Excellent, drinking well, no hurry.

  • Very good wine but just not doing it for me tonight. Light ruby color followed by a nose from heaven: strawberry, gravel and damp earth - so pure. Trouble is the palate is more like Nebraska: wholesome and pure but lacking fireworks or that certain something. (Using Nebraska as a metaphor- I have loved my time in Omaha over the years). I think the young vines are at issue here. Just doesnt have the juice to age. I have 10 more bottles and will check another one out soon. A bit under stuffed... but what a nose. (89)

  • 2/6. Excellent cork. Medium garnet core, pale garnet rim. Lovely nose - aromatic, pure purple fruit, florals, touch of vanilla. Medium bodied, soft tending towards silky tannins, blackcurrant, bilberries, touch of spice and hint of savoury game, vibrant acidity, this expands into a long, harmonious finish with a touch of creaminess coming through. Gorgeous, drinking well but no hurry.

  • This is very Gevrey and M-G in style but very concentrated, primary, and viscous. A kir-like elixer. I'd give another 1-3 years before again trying. Lots of raw material here -- no rush to drink.
