No need to add a full tasting note because AJBERGREN's from October 2015 is spot on, and still holds true 19 months later, with my only quibble being that this wine shows excellent typicity for Sta. Rita (technically Santa Barbara County) pinot noir rather than pinot noir generally. This wine is at peak and should ideally be consumed over the next several years.

Transparent dark brick red with browning rim. Excellent intensity on the medium complexity nose, with classic Pinot Noir notes of cherry and red berries, with light baking spices and earth blended seamlessly. The nose transfers directly to the palate attack, supported by medium acidity, light body, and silky tannins and perfectly integrated oak. Flavours of cherry, strawberry, raspberry, spice, and hints of earth (mushroom). Finishes medium length with cola notes. Verges on syrupy, but maintains a sappy richness that is under control and typical of the variety. This is not over-extracted, but certainly shows ripeness. Overall, really good balance for an excellent CA Pinot Noir, and drinking very well!

This wine has improved in the past few months, but the fruit is beginning to fade. Still some cherry cola flavors, but I would say it is peaking or has peaked.

This continues to be a great bargain Pinot. Bright red color and cherry cola flavors.
