Very good PN. Nice balance and not too hot. Melville's wines have been too big for me lately. Not sure if the age on this wine helped. Complex, good fruit and spiciness. Not a fruit bomb; not cherry soda. Enjoyed the bottle.

Great expectations are fueled by the expressive, candied nose. This is light in the mouth, with berries and a bit of spice but not chewy. A bit too acidic for my taste. Dinged a notch for the brief finish, but still a compelling QPR that one need not rush to consume either.

I would give the nose (GREAT fruit bowl) a 92, the taste (less in your face fruit, but bramble/oak, earth and licorice) an 89, and the finish-better than medium- a 91. All told, a 90. Overall, still a very robust Pinot that stood up well to grilled/encrusted fresh wild-caught Copper River Salmon. Great $20 Pinot.

Delicious Pinot. No formal notes but this wine is currently drinking well. Melvilel makes a bevvy of wines that are excellent and fairly priced.
