2009 Arrowood Syrah Saralee = 91.5. Nicely balanced. 70% front palate / 30% mid to back. Initially tastes like a good Russian River Pinot Noir. The Blackberry/Currant/Pepper/Anise delivers with a little hint of smokiness. Tasted with beef tacos & complemented well. Enjoyable. KS. 91.5.

Probably could benefit from more aw ratio than I am giving it tonight. Nose is of clove and spiced plums. The addition of some Viognier definitely softens the mouthfeel a bit.

An herbal edge to the black fruit makes it interesting. Medium depth and length. Only fair QPR at $30.
