In Key West for the week, we love it here but hard to find reasonable wine on most menus. Went to a place called Grand Vin on Duval, local wine shop and store to try to find a few things to tide us over. Didn't know this wine, but for $27, an estate bottling from Alexander Valley, gave it a try.
For the price, this is a find. Floral and nuts on the nose. Buttery, citrus, pineapple, some minerality in the back palate that makes it more crisp than most Calif Chardonnay. Great QPR...and nice wine overall

What I would dub a "classic" California Chardonnay. I like the fact that it has all the aromas of apples and pear. What did I really like though? I liked that the flavor came through along with a nice and brighter finish and left out that over buttery and gloppy feeling. A real delight and a sleeper Chardonnay. If you find it, pick one up, or ask Mitch at thewinetobuy.com for a bottle. Enjoy.

Very almondy on the nose, with floral notes and a deep butter tone that has melon and pineapple fruit laid ove it. A bit heavy at first and perhaps still carrying a lot of sweetness from the oak used here. This comes off as a touch candied, with pineapple and lightly tropical flavors framed with fairly assertive oak that is obvious on the palate and through the long finish. This does have some nice mineral details and a bracingly palate refreshing finish, but it is overtly oaky. 88pts
