  • Cellared at 55 since acquisition upon release - dull dark cloudyish black purple - old pruney nose - dead palate - airing did nothing - little life left in this fossil

  • Glad we got 1 bottle out of the 50 cases made! A beautiful aroma of dark cherry and black raspberry upon opening which continued to expand over the next two hours. Very dense concentrated fruit, very smooth & mouth coating with perfectly integrated tannins, some sweetness to it with a super long heavenly finish. A nice ending to an otherwise frustrating year all around! We should have shared it with Robert Parker.

  • In the glass a medium ruby with lightness at the rim but no bricking and a nose of black fruits, mirabelle, cherry and pancake syrup - sweetness. In the mouth candied black fruits, some fine tannins and a pervasive sweetness that carries into a fine finish - This is even sweeter than the '99. Liked the '99 better.

  • Popped and poured. Clear dark red little or no fading at the edge. Very high toned nose of berries, especially rasberries, immediately
on opening; light on its feet, but some slight heat/unresolved tannins on the finish. Delightful very ripe fruit slightly sweet with a very long finish,
clearly Sonoma Coast with its lightness and intensity in contrast to Russian River voluptuous texture. Showing little
    signs of its 10 years.
