A Small Tasting of 1999 Pinot Noir: The darkest wine of the tasting. Aromas of dark berry fruit, mushrooms, herbs and earth. The most rich and ripe wine that we tasted (and also with the most sediment). Not quite as balanced as all the rest, but with plenty of concentration. I can't say that I'm all to familiar with the Siduri, but the wine seemed to be in a fairly extracted style of which I'm not so much of a fan. A little hot on the finish but it does have good length.

Still very tannic. Dense and dark. The standard OR pinot nose of dark earth, mushrooms and chocolate. A touch of caramel emerges with time. Nicely balanced mouthfeel with fresh acidity but rather austere on the finish. I will take a CA pinot over an OR pinot any day of the week.

[Disclaimer: I don't "get" Oregon pinot so take with a grain of salt.] Nice nose of cloves and sandalwood, but they do not carry over on the palate. Subtle fruit flavors but a bit thin in the midpalate. Probably very nice for those who appreciate the style but not "my cup of pinot."

Very aromatic and has held up beautifully. In fact they are years ahead of this one. Color is still bright and flavors are strong.
