Drinking very well right now with firm tanins that softened after about 30 minutes. Good dark fruit with some earthiness and leather, with a long finish. Should last a few more years.

Popped and poured, drank over 2 nights. Intoxicating nose from the start, just lovely. Raspberry and cherry fruit, pepper and dust. Plenty of red fruit on the palate with a peppery finish. Smooth texture, almost a tad thin. Very nice. I'd buy again just for the aroma.

About on par with the producer's Grenache, same vintage. It shows some pretty elements, black tea, raspberry, and a plesant dustiness, but is not as appealing or deep as the Grenache-Carignan blend.

(Syncline Mourvedre Columbia Valley) A brooding wine with notes of ground white pepper, citrus, mineral, herbs, and a light meatiness. The palate is wonderfully fresh and textured in feel. An outstanding example of the variety with little apparent oak influence to interfere with the directness of the fruit and savory flavors. 100% Mourvèdre. Alder Ridge (42%), Heart of the Hill (29%), Coyote Canyon (19%), and Ciel du Cheval (10%) vineyards. Aged 14 months in concrete (50%) and neutral French oak. 14.8% alcohol. 388 cases produced. Sample provided by winery.

Different vineyards used than in this producer's 2010 Mourvedre and the result was not as good but somewhat stronger tannins and savory beef notes.
