  • Definitely cabbagey at fist. This one needs a 30 minute decant, then it is quite lovely. Plumby with nice acidity.

  • This is probably my most disappointing auction purchase, and an example for me of why not to impulse buy. Fortunately, not a very expensive mistake, and this is certainly drinkable, just really not my style. A roasted nose with mocha and overripe stewed fruit, and a cabbagey reductive note, which fortunately blows off with aeration. Ripe and fruity entry, dry clipped tannic finish. Tastes spoofified. My notes seem like outliers, so either my taste preferences are very different from the rest of this group, or perhaps my bottles received sub-optimal storage. Admittedly, I don't enjoy the modern-style Right Bank wines that began to emerge in the mid to late '90s, and this is definitely in that mold. 92WS, 90WA.

  • Saying good bye to an old friend. Wine probably a little past peak but still very nice

  • $30 well spent...nicely balanced mature bottle. Holding up ok but won't get better

  • This bottle shows a lot more reduction than the last one I had a few months ago. Stinky cabbage nose that blew off a bit with air and a pass through the Vinturi. Lots of bricking, faded fruit, with some compote and plum notes. Definitely some bottle variation in this lot. Fill and cork are pristine though, so although this was a recent auction purchase, it looks like they have been well stored. Drink up.
