  • This was my third/ fourth bottle of the 2012 Bachelet Monnot Batard Montrachet. They have been showing great previously however this was the first bottle that appeared to be heading towards a premox direction. A hint of oxidation but nothing offensive, though I have a strong feeling this might enter a premox phase soon. Nonetheless, it is showing nicely today with ripe yellow stone fruits and buttery toast. Full bodied, very typical Batard Montrachet big-boned style with hints of glycerol. (88/100)

  • The 2012 Bachelet Monnot Batard Montrachet is modern in style, creamy with airy minerals (can easily be mistaken as a Meursault characteristics). They have been ageing their wines in 350L barrels (just like PYCM) since 2012. Ripe and juicy stone fruits with creamy lactic texture and toasty minerals. Higher in alcohol portraying the 2012 heat (which I am not a huge fan of). Nonetheless, a superb winemaking and style of wine that I adore. (90/100)

  • Bachelet Monnot Batard Montrachet 2012 is a textbook Batard Montrachet, big-boned and brawny with glycerol Batard characteristic, yet Bachelet Monnot makes a silky smooth Batard, very attractive even in an average vintage. Fragrant oily glycerol, ripe tropical fruits with hints of lifted oak. Alex Bachelet makes refined white Burgundies, not the reductive style but definitely fetching. Silky smooth showing hints of buttery toast and ripe stone fruits. Drink now to 2038. (90/100)

  • a Burgundy- night tasting: enormous impressing appearance, very powerful, fine melting, very concentrated, limy, some yellow fruit, long+ finish, sould age very well for more than 10+ years, but there is a drop of bitterness: the price, enormous 185€ a bottle! *(***+), 91- 93+?
