  Decanted a portion with stir for 5 min and it opened quickly, within 10 min. Vacuvin’d the rest and tried without decant on day 2 and 3 with same results. Deep ruby color. Earth, tobacco, and herbal blackberry on the nose. Blackberry, dark cherry, graphite, and then dark chocolate on the palate with 30-35 sec finish. Pretty consistent with my impression of the 2008. One of the best QPR I have seen on secondary market.

  I also had an issue with dry cork. Bottle purchased in 2017 and stored correctly since then. No issue with condition of wine. Drinking nicely.

  Decanted 1 hour and that was the right choice. Cork was dry and broke. Nice bottle and has more time.

  A solid if somewhat generic Super-Tuscan, more Old World than New, with a healthy dose of acidity and more structure than fruit. Flavors of mint and dark fruits. It made my wife happy.

  Tight and tannic upon opening. Decanted 1 hour. Continued to improve over two hours. Dark fruit and leather. Cork in good shape. This is a winner!
