10 years after Riesling tasting - 2014 (Restaurant Brunnenstube, Beinstein): Glass: Gabriel Universal Bottle opened ~10h before the tasting. Right after opening it showed the oxidative and ripe mellow apple notes, that I usually connect with PJK wines and that I don't like. During the tasting, it was a completely different wine and the first Schlehdorn I really liked! Clea, pale golden color. A bit freaky nose, some acacia, floral notes. Complex and deep. On the palate very precise, mineral, nice energy and tension, fine herbs, some red fruit. Long and still young. 94+

The 14er Schlehdorn does not quite have the class of the 2013er (97 points) Nevertheless, this is a very strong Riesling. Typical PJK with a beautiful mellowness, a bright herbal aroma, yellow stone fruit flavours and a beautiful, strong but ripe acidity. The wine shows body, the rather oxidative ageing in wood (as far as I know "Stückfass") and the BSA. Burgundian in style, beautiful length.
