Found 2 in the back of the cellar. I thought I had finished them years ago. Amazingly youthful. previous notes showed no bricking and i still don't see any bricking. Ruby red color. Very aromatic. It did improve with time, but was good pnp. Cherry, cola, spice and a hint of earthiness. Showing a little secondary character. Beautifully balanced with nice aidity in the smooth finish. I plan to wait a few more years to see what the last bottle does.

PnP (three nights). Remarkably similar to notes from 2006. Violet red, with maybe a hint of bricking if you look hard enough for it. Nose is still fruit and earth/forest floor-driven but this now has spice (white pepper) that wasn't noted. Palate and medium fruit, penetrating flavors with the spice carrying through with a line of mineral/acidity that is nicely balanced. Low finesse with some complexity. Did not fade one bit over the 3 evenings.

I must concur with ThomasKiel's earlier note... pretty much identical impression two years later, still no bricking, and even better (much) on night two.

Opened this one because a '99 Chehalem was corked. Red/violet, no browning. Lovely nose of cherry, cola, forest floor and a hint of earth. Great mouth feel with evident structure and a pleasing medium long finish with palate cleansing acidity. Perfect solution: redeem a bad surprise with a pleasant one.

Mature red fruit on nose. Slightly muddy flavors which would make me think this was heat damaged if i hadn't owned this since release. Not nearly as bright or interesting as when last tried a few years ago.
