An evening with Sorrel and Gerin (Uncorked, Bishopsgate): Pungent, smoky, deep and savoury nose. Surprising finesse on the palate given the heat of the vintage. But somehow doesn't stand out as sufficiently delicious; could perhaps do with more lift and creamy charm.

Very oxidative nose - bruised apples, nutty, sherried and some VA Long and tangy Very much an acquired taste but if you like the style then it's very good
