Decanted for 3 hours. Deep, dark purple hue with magenta rim. Stewed plums on the nose with some woody notes. Initial sips were still a bit tight. But as it loosened up in the glass the wine was well balanced and well made with a decent fruit profile but not very memorable. Medium acid, medium integrated tannin with a medium finish. This wine may gain some complexity with more age. I will sit on my next bottle for another three years. Drink or hold.

4 hour decant then consumed over two nights. Although night one was good, night two was measurably better and an ounce left in the glass on day three was even further resolved. Yes, the wine is still young with structure showing a bit too much muscle, but the beautiful fruit is beginning to saturate the palate. This bottle showed superb balance and finally hints at a timeline for these heralded 2013's.

Blend of beckstoffer fruit is my understanding and I could see that on the palate. Big wine, a bit on the darker more brooding side. Could use more time to soften. Drank for 2 hours after an hour decant. No wow factor for me

Substantially fresher and less extracted than expected. Still big wine with massive tannins that grip hard on the finish. Fresh strawberries, syrupy raspberry, sage, mint, vanilla, and some heft oak that’s yet to integrate. Needs a 5 hour decant to soften. This needs 5 more years but drinks well with a long decant.

Nose of black cherry, black berry, boysenberry, and chalk, same on the palate, big body, more open than the trio of The Debate Cabernet Sauvignons today, needs 3 years to peak, small amount of soft tannins, soft and elegant fruit, almost elegant, and a long, flavorful finish. This wine is about $125 and a terrific value!!! #1 of 4.
