  • Straw almost honey color. Generous toasty, buttery nose, also showing inviting tropical, citrus and slate, marred by a faint underlying rubbery note. Less appealing on the palate, thinnish and slightly madeirized. This bottle was well cellared since release but is now mostly dead. Probably a representative showing, but no score.

  • Medium yellow with a nose of lemon and apple. On the palate a some tropical fruits and honey with a creamy mouth feel. This offset by a brisk acidity. Medium finish a little kick from the alcohol. Overall a very good wine that provides interest on all levels.

  • Deep yellow hinting at gold. Nose of smokey tropical fruits, plus less appealing notes of used frying oil and chicken stock. Modest hints of chardonnay character on the palate, otherwise mostly raw alcohol.

  • Interesting and appealing nose of fried apples, smoke, and flint gives way to a rich, creamy, mouthfilling body, with a flash of acidity and stony minerality to provide balance. The finish is long and vibrant. Very nice

  • Worryingly oaky nose, not much else. The palate is definitely showing a little too much oak (though restrained compared to wood juice from California), but there's a zesty acidity that's keeping it from taking over completely. Creamy texture, with a medium+ body. Hot finish on the throat from the relatively high alcohol. A good amount of lemon, but also some fairly ripe flavors - banana, mango, pineapple, apple pie. Toasty oak, with vanilla and mint (!) on the back palate. Lots of concentration and depth. Decent QPR for $18 on closeout for $15.
