When I took this bottle out of the cellar, I still remembered the marvelous 2006 that I drank a few months earlier.
At the opening, it already gets complicated: dry cap, pegged, which breaks in 2.
And as soon as you pour a glass, the color calls out: it's cloudy, as evolved as a 40-year-old wine. It is confirmed in the mouth: it is cooked, maderized and sour with an acrid smell. The passage in decanter will sign his death certificate. Infuriating.

Peaflower, flint, lemon, ceramic clay, fruitstone, almonds, greene gooseberry, nettle, very deep complexity, medium+ acidity, long finish, high concentration, well balanced, all in all a outstanding wine, 95p. Changed several times during the night.

My bottle was still going strong. Not fading at all. And a beautiful wine.

Old. Partly oxidised. Baked apple.
Medium to full bodied, unctuous. Lower than expected medium acidity. Long and complex. Drink 5 years ago.
