  • Here we go! Santa Maria Valley, a beautiful place to grow Pinot Noir. And ABC does it in the best way possible. Pale garnet in the glass. Notes of cola, dark cherry, raspberry, some dried herbs. Medium-bodied with high acidity, a brush of tannins, precise balance. Long finish. A solid Pinot, with a seductively smooth and upfront appealing texture. Drinking really well at the moment, but you could definitely wait 8-10 more years. Such a good wine.

  • Deceivingly light ruby in the glass.

Tons of flavour here and a decidedly Burgundian presentation (with the exception of some cola on the nose and palate).

Sweet red fruit and sous bois on the nose, juicy, lingering finish on the palate. Tannins were well-integrated at this stage and soft as silk.

Almost wish this had been the first wine of the night as it's one that you just want to sit with and keep revisiting over the course of the evening.

  • Pop and poured. Floral to the max, spicy and red fruited nose. No mistaking it for Burgundy, very Californian but with Clenenden touch. Still has a bit of tannins, on top of the raspberry and red currant flavours, there's also a naruli flavour, very Earl Grey like, reminiscent of soap. Overall, lovely but that naruli flavour is slightly distracting.

  • Deep concentrated color and perfectly clear.

Nose is cherries, rhubarb, touch of cola, and clean earth.

Palate is round and juicy and confirms nose. Incredibly profound, integrated and balanced. Mouth coating mid palate with welcome minerality.

One of my favorite Pinots so far this year. I immediately started shopping for more. If I had tasted this blind, it would have fooled me easily. It's just so Burgundian.

  • This is nice. Quite complex. Red fruit, floral. Some forest notes. Somewhat short finish is the only mild gripe. Feels like it will be better in a few years, which is a shame as this is my last bottle. Have stoppered and will revisit tomorrow.
