Community Tasting Notes (1)

  • At Secchu Yokota. Dumb not to open this with food, but we thought we had too much wine already (except that my Defaix Blanchot was not entirely right). This is such a lovely wine - the minerality here is a bit subdued, as it's not lithe, but the palate is definitely a bit like licking some very lovely rocks, ones with terrific acidity. The nose was also not especially petrol heavy, which I didn't expect. In an odd way, a Chablis version of Riesling (if that makes sense).
