Recommended to me by a wine guy at Mt. Washington Wine & Spirits in Baltimore. Usually I go by the mantra that the best time to drink rosé is within the year following its vintage. I told him this, but he was persuasive that I should try it due to its pedigree. Yes, it was quite flavorful with obvious Grenache orange character, finishing soft with a touch of sweetness, but its nose and flavors remained a touch on the stale side. I disagree with him: The wine would have been better last year or the year before.

Customary dark rose color of Tavel. Nose is very aromatic with red fruits - strawberry and watermelon - with an added depth of herbs and a diffuse floral note. Palate feature juicy and sweet red fruits followed by white pepper and herbs. Medium body, though much fuller than most rose. Low acidity, medium finish. Delicious.

Geruch: Sauber. Mittlere Aromen von Zitrone, Apfel, würzige Noten wie Pfeffer. Jugendlich.

The deep salmon color sets the tone - quite a bit darker than a Provence Rose sitting besides it in the wine cooler. Had it chilled, and hit by notes of cherries, watermelon, and grapefruit, a hint of chocolate. The nose and first sip reminded me immediately of Nyetimber Rose, minus the bubbles. A slightly bitter taste mid palette with a quick finish.
