  • This wine was enjoyed with spicy shrimp tacos, and if this was popped 5 years ago...would have probably demolished the tacos. Age has really mellowed this one out, and I think for the better. Cork popped with a fair amount of cork bleed all around....probably 33 percent of the cork. The nose out of the bottle was aged blackberry but a funky caramel raisin note was also very present.....mmmkay..... uh oh. Decanted for 2 hours. Served with dinner. On the pour was still a ruby red wine with a nose of sweet floral notes, blackberry. I don't think caramel was here, but there was a dusty aged fruit. Taste: front was a full bodied aged wine with all aged blackberry, but none of that raisin quality. Fig, spice up front and early carrying to the finish. Medium to full bodied wine. Finished with spice, herbs, aged fruit, plum, integrated very well. I think this wine is on the downhill slide, but still has probably 3 years left. Drink window is spot on. Time to drink up, but don't expect this to overpower food, and please don't drink this wine without accoutrement.

  • Very nice bottle...decanted for an hour. Drank with a nice grilled filet.

  • huge and powerful but not without finesse. Decanted for about three hours. Vegetal-dominated at first, but after a while dark, slightly brooding fruit emerged-- captivating, though not quite as multifaceted as some Napa cabs I've had. Served with pork stew in a Provencal style-- a nice match. Isaac felt it was right in its drinking window. 91+

  • Popped and poured. Meh. Monolithic, decent concentration of black fruit and oak but nothing special.

  • Just a beautiful bottle of wine. Elegant, refined, smooth tannins, dark, opaque color, and a wonderful nose. Shared with friends so a fairly small serving, but such a joy.
