In a lovely place where there’s still plenty of cherry fruit and some savoury mature development, lovely aromatics too, worth the cellaring and wish I had a few more

Decanted for 30 mins helped some bottle stink blow off. Dark purple, no bricking visible. Some light spice and dark cherry fruits on the nose, a little development adds a savoury earthy element which is very pleasant. It's very smooth in the mouth, a good mix of forest floor earthiness and dark cherry, there's a twist of acidity right at the end which could have have more pronounced, ends with a medium finish. Quite enjoyable and in a good place now, it will last longer but I feel there's a slight lack of acidity for much longer term keeping and development.

Sonoma-Napa Trip Day 6 (RRV and DCV): Light appearance. Reticent nose touch of spice. Sweeter attack than the other Pinots but quickly turns tangy red fruit. $50.
