My first Manzanilla Montillada encounter and great choice for a dessert wine. Served chilled, slightly brown in colour and had a nose to get lost in, showing coffee, golden syrup, seaweed, toffee. Really fresh on the palate yet powerful and full of complexity. Worth seeking out.

"Good bottles" (67 Pall Mall): Sherry is an easy thing for me to like, and this was no exception. I found the style quite Palo Cortado-esque, nicely poised between the yeasty and oxidative sides of Sherry, and less saline than the wine's origins as a Manzanilla suggested. Nutty and intense, dry but with notes of cinder toffee, it made a superb match for the cheese - and a jolly good one for fruitcake too. Mmm...

Open and very dry, warm, with toffee and baked earth, baked apple notes, chocolate and coffee, but the smell of ground coffee not brewed coffee, really good, dry, serious, salty, works your salivary glands, full and long.

frustrating because this bottle should be great, but it was not entirely fresh, and this demonstrated itself via an oxidative sweetness that overwhelmed the subtleties of the wine.

A bit flat at the start, but opening up after 30 mins. Slightly salty and nutty. Good daily drinking Sherry, but not outstanding
