Not had one of these for a while but it’s really starting to sing now. I wish I’d held onto earlier bottles but good to know for my later vintages . No notes taken but really enjoyed

Prior bottle was 11 months ago and my notes were very consistent. Black cherry, black raspberry and blackberry along with light floral notes, earth and light spices on what continues to be a very pretty nose. Just a bit above medium bodied and still needs 2+ hours to fully open up and show it's best (as is quite common for this vineyard site and also to warm from cellar temperature). Black cherry upfront which retains some bright elements while showing a lot of cool, rounded expressiveness. Mid-body shows black raspberry along with darker black cherry. Very silky and elegant through the middle as the fruit blends quite well with the fine grained tannins, acidity, tart black cherry and mineral notes on the backside and through the finish. Based on consistent notes over the past year, I'd say this wine is at peak and while it should be able to hold this level for at least another 12-18 months, now this the time to enjoy this wine.

Anton’s Wine Tasting Notes Winery: Chanin Wine Co. Varietal: Pinot Noir Area/Appellation: California/Santa Rita Hills/Sanford & Benedict Vineyard Vintage: 2015. Price: $ 63.00 wine.com Color: pale ruby Legs: fast Nose: strawberries, cherries, dried red pomegranate, dried roses, fennel, thyme, a gravelly mix of rocks, Palate: cherries, strawberries, some raspberries, more plum, silky smooth, Finish: the dried red pomegranate and dried cherries/strawberries dominate, I also get a little hint of well worn leather on the very back end. Comments: this is a well-made fruit, forward Pinot Noir. I get all the comments about it being like a young burgundy, or being mistaken for a young burgundy. What I want here is a bit more complexity, a bit more nuance. Pairing Suggestions: I had Blackened Salmon with this. Score in terms of Vintage: 91 Score for the Wine: 91+ Value for the Money: Very Good 😀 Date Tasted: 12/09/2022 Tasted by: ACK

Pale ruby in color. Red cherry, strawberry, thyme, fennel, rose petals on the complex nose. Dry on the palate, light to medium body, medium acid, polished tannins, elegant texture. Well balanced, well integrated oak and great length. This can pass for old world. This is my favorite Cali pinot of the evening.
