Eucalypt, great length, green pepper (a bit too much for my taste), fresh acidity, earthy aromas. Very much Northern Rhone, not new world. Pleasure to drink. Fruit seems to be giving way to tertiary aromas. Still super nice to drink. Not sure it’ll get better though

Tasmanian Wine Tasting 2013 (Oak Barrel, Elizabeth Street, Sydney): Black, green and white peppercorns dominate the nose which also features black cherry and sweet spice. In the mouth there is black pepper spice, slight black cherry fruit, spice, grippy, ripe tannin. Well made, young, savoury, quite Northern Rhone rather than, say, Barossa Valley. Very nice but, tonight, not for me... that's not to say I wouldn't like it tomorrow...
