Retail $30. Under cork. I bought three bottles of this wine from Last Bottle Wines almost four years ago and I have been thrilled. It comes from perhaps the most renowned vineyard in Paso. Similar notes, but I am going to bump it up a notch. 92 Points.
Really liked this wine - big burly nose of cedar, earth, and blackberry. Palate shows what I think are the best parts of Zin - spicy, earthy, black fruit without that raisinated taste. I didn't pick up the heat others noticed, in fact, I thought this wine was really well balanced. Not sure it's fully mature. Very good.

Whoo this is hot at 15.8% alcohol. The alcohol dominated the nose and the finish. It’s also surprisingly acidic for its alcohol level, even for a zin. Mouthfeel was ok and pleasant if unremarkable on the mid palate, but the finish was a mix of cough syrup / purple drank, some nasty fruit punch I drank in undergrad and sugar. Too much alcohol and acid. Gross!
Recommend avoiding, after a couple of sips i poured the rest down the drain.

Not sure I’m 4.1 here. We paid $16. I get the black tea on the nose but more than that, I get the smell of Easter egg dye! Which is to say alcohol and WOW! Look at that...15.8!! Can’t imagine the brix when they pulled these...26+? Massive jammy alcohol...softer than blackberry moonshine, but headed in that direction. All that said, I’m enjoying it with a mushroomy chicken Marsala with fusilli. My wife likes big reds but scrunched up her nose here...hoping she leaves the rest to me. :)
