Rich and complex cab with plum, blackberry and cherry on the nose. Didn’t even need to decant, it was ready to roll from the get go. Long finish with silky smooth tannins. One of my favorite wines of all time, mostly because of the rich/smooth flavors, price point and ease of drinkability!

I was worried this might be too young but this bottle was in good form. Consistent with the house style. Smooth, some oak but not too much (at least to my palate). The fruit is bright and there’s some tobacco starting to show behind it. Tasty.

Plum Market Luxury Wine Tasting. My first 2017 Napa cab and much better than expected. Dark ruby fruit - currants/cassis, blackberry, dark cherry, and some plum. Really smooth with a nice purity, however, the fruit came across a little light - a complaint that I’m hearing overall for many 2017 Napa cabs. Soft/somewhat muted flavors of dark berries, some spice, and a little mineral/graphite component. Solid finish but not overly long nor deep - it appears to need some time on the back-end to open-up which isn’t a surprise in light of its youth. The bottles were double decanted for a couple hours before serving. Surprisingly very approachable at this youthful stage. 91/92 for me at this stage. 100% cab.
