Decanted for one hour. Nose of blackberry, blueberry, currant, licorice and graphite. Black and blue fruit, graphite, licorice, cedar and spice on the palate. Long layered finish. Full bodied. Served with hickory smoked, reverse seared porterhouse steaks and Béarnaise.

I was surprised that this wine had tapered off so much. It was flat, unlively, and just a mellow table wine. I must have waited too long which surprised me even more. We had an 09 three weeks later which was amazing. Go figure

Decanted for one hour. Nose of blackberry, blueberry, currant, mocha, licorice, forest floor and spice. Black and blue fruit, mocha, licorice, spice and crushed rock on the palate. Long finish with elegant balance. Full bodied. Drinking very well, but no rush. Served with reverse seared strip steaks and bordelaise.

Opened to honor Tom Seaver who passed away earlier this week. Decanted at 5pm. Mellow nose of spiced cherries and currants. Rich and silky with firm tannins on the long finish of red fruit jam. Should drink well for 15-20 years more.

Terrific wine! Lots of dark red and black fruits with a bit of spice mixed in. There is no mistaking this wine for anything but a great CA cab. Great mouthfeel and aftertaste. It may be nearing its peak so start drinking this baby. Drank over two days with similar impressions, but the second seemed almost better.
