From a perfectly stored bottle tucked away on release. Quick decant for sediment. Rumors of a decline are greatly exaggerated, as this is the wheel house and showed beautiful aromatics and flavors of mostly blue fruit with supple yet rich mouth feel. Clean and no funk from the get go. No decline on day 2. Glad I waited. Score probably conservative.

We opened a bottle of this earlier this year and it was drinking quite well. Though this bottle still tasted fine, the nose was a bit funky. Oh well, it can happen on a 14 year old Sonoma Syrah...

Porcini mushroom, roasted walnut, elderberry, cappuccino, rusty iron and ramen. Long, and not intimidated, this has no heat and prudent concentration. Excellent provenance (I purchased this upon release) and weaves a wild tale. Drink now - 2019.

Deep fruit in the nose and flavor, blackberries and blueberries, along with some floral and pepper. Medium to long finish.
