Firehouse orange red color. Mature, singed bouquet not unlike old Bordeaux. Lots of earthy notes of dried, red fruit, decaying leaves, au jus, and tomatoes. The fruit is long gone on the palate, you can say it's well past its prime, but it displayed structure, complexity, and tertiary flavors. Was even better paired with Chicken Paprikas. Drink up.

This old wine was actually very drinkable. Very bricks in colour. Nose wS still good. Had definitely lost its sweetness, but it still had that certain something that compelled us drink it.

K&L Old and Rare Wines Blind Tasting (K&L, San Francisco): Ruby-tawny color; super-funky nose, fading fruit; palate is starting to be oxidized. Too old, maybe off vintage Bordeaux. 84 Upon reveal: Really not that good. Just way past its prime.

Tasted blind. Thought it was an early 80s BDX. Oxidized, stewed fruit. Over the hill. Funky.
