  • With Vietnamese grilled pork chops, served in Zalto Universal stems. This was a stunner right from the moment it was opened. Electric and alive, vibrating and vibrant with a pinpoint precision and lingering finish. Right in the kabinett zone as far as balance of acidity and fruit and sweetness for me. Though there was complexity here, I thought it was more of a great guitar solo than the band playing. When thrown against the smoke and fat of the grilled pork, though, all the harmonics came out. Glorious bottle of wine, with personality and a high pleasure factor.

  • Really good place. Definitely in Andreas's style. Flashy/still a bit fleshy/ great mixture of slate and candied pink grapefruit peels. Great acid. Really enjoying it tonight.

  • With take out Vietnamese. Haven't had one of these since 2017 and honestly don't see all that much change since then. Maybe a little darker color and a few more mature notes coming out. Still quite compact, though with very nice flavor and aromatics. A darker flavor profile than some others from Adam. Good finish. It's stylish. I didn't pay as much attention as I probably should have - the food was very late and I was starving. It deserved better than the pounding I gave it.

  • Drunk with friends, no TN.
Showing signs of evolution, more complexity and some weight too. Lovely to drink now.

  • My wife's comment - tastes like apple juice. Consistent with prior bottles, this was over evolved. No acid presence and heavier on the palate. I like Adam's wine, this was just a bad batch. Dark golden color, sweetness was it's only defining characteristic. Had wanted to drink through them since anticipated the issue from prior, so paired with a Chinese orange chicken dish, since fried stuff is more forgiving with a sweeter wine like this.

(A.J. Adam Dhron Hofberg Riesling Kabinett) ($34.00) This has the purest fragrance of old-school Mosel Riesling. It’s why we love it with a heart almost childlike, one we hardly know we own. This is sleeker than most recent vintages – a “mere” 87° with 10.8g acidity, which is not unnoticeable, but the slightly arch charm is beautiful for its angularity, and the wine shows absurd length.
