Ripe raisin fruits, tar, decaying rose and black earth on the nose. It is very savoury in the mouth with plenty of muscle and authority and elements of floral beauty. There’s plenty of volatile, balsamic lift to the long finish.

Such an intriguing and delicious wine. Quite deep of colour but pure of aroma. It has some rhubarb and root vegetable notes along with black earth, chocolate, fig and rose petals. There’s an almost tinned fruit sweetness countered by some sinewy tannins and savoury earthy traits. It has a saline mineral quality and fantastic length.

A calm, even and complete wine. It starts off and always remains in balance but the aromatics really unlock after some air time. There are notes of burnt fig, leather, cardamom, tobacco and something woodsy/undergrowthy. In the mouth, flavours vacillate between vinous and sweet to savoury and earthy. Tannins have all but melded away yet the wine has enough grip to perfectly accompany a mild curry of Wagyu beef. The finish has a kiss of breezy acidity and it has fabulous persistence.
