  • From the fridge. Decanted to a carafe. Medium to light, clear gold color. Green apple, light oak on the nose. Tight initially, opening as it warmed a bit. Medium plus acid. Oak becoming more prominent as it warmed. The balance seems a little sub-optimal. The last glass was perhaps the best, so maybe a longer decant is called for. This is a very good Chardonnay, but at this rarified price point, there are better Sonoma Chards in my opinion e.g. Aubert’s offerings.

  • From magnum. Fruit forward, medium-heavy weight in the mouth. Nuances of smoke, ripe pear, honey and white tea. Years ahead of this one.

  • Somewhat muted nose of white flowers and sea breeze. Tastes of lemon meringue, dried pineapple and peach. Fairly restrained oak. Medium+ acidity. Long creamy finish. Nicely balanced and quite elegant!

  • Totally amazing. Light, bright golden color. Nose of pears, citrus & butter. Medium bodied. This baby was outstanding from Smoked Sweet Potato Soup with Crab, pan seared red grouper to French Butter Cookies.
