Popped and vinturied. Nose: Tight, grape fruit, salt water, and butter. Palate: Nice mouth feel, full bodied, creamy buttery texture, with sweet pear and apple fruit flavors turns a little bitter towards the back-end which dominates a medium length finish. A unique wine in the sense that is starts with a challenging - though pleasant - nose, followed by an exceptional palate, and ends with weak finish.

I really like this style of Chardonnay. The fruit is bold and solid, while still very elegant. The supporting flavors and aromas are quite complimentary. Somehow they found a way to give us a big, leesey chardonnay with considerable oak influence, that does not show it. Everything is so balanced, almost soft. There a hint of ginger and even cinnamon that really brings the citrus and apple to a different level. Feels big in the mouth while still being smooth as silk. Very expressive and approachable lemon, pear, citrus, tropical, and even banana fruit. Only mildly acidic, but still some of that Granny Smith Apple profile. If it were not for the vanilla on the nose, palate, and finish, we would not even know was any oak involved. So integrated. Has a distinct taste that I think indicates a high elevation for the vineyard. Handles getting warmer than cellar temperature in the glass very well. In my top 5 Chardonnay's this year.
