Strong nose of currants, roasted meat, black cherries, violets, and a hint of refreshing menthol. Palate had dark fruit with meatiness and earthiness; with sweet attack followed by light, savory finish. Smooth, energetic mouthfeel, with good acidity, fine, round tannins, and long length. Very nice bottle of wine in a great place right now.

Popped and poured. Color is a nice dark ruby through to the rim, with no signs of bricking or aging. Other than the last glass, the wine is virtually devoid of sediment and nicely made. The nose is very enjoyable, with earthy meats, some pepper-licorice, and the scent of bright red fruits. In the mouth, the wine is smooth with just a slight nip at the end. Overall, this is a very balanced, nicely aged, not at all overdone example of Syrah. Would pair nicely across the food spectrum. 93 points.

Very nice. Not the most complex. But enjoyable just the same.
