favorite of the vertical (96, 99, 00). more modern than the muga's against it. old vines (50+ years). currants, vanilla, spice, earth. rich but easy to drink.

Spanish dinner at Think Cafe (Chicago, IL): Ruby in color and lightening at the rim. Deliciously sweet nose has vanilla, dark cherries and cocoa. Medium bodied on the palate with rich, toasty dark cherries. Fine tannins are in harmony with the fruit. This is ready to go. Done in a modern style (made from late-harvest fruit, according to RMP's note) and not overly complex but very tasty and easy to drink.

Bright, but deep red color. Not as much browning as i expected. Sweet nose of vanilla, oak, cherry & raspberry. Smelled a bit like grenache / beaujolais. Tasted similar to nose. Sweet vanilla and berry/scheery. If I didn't know what it was, I would have guessed granache or beaujolais. Next day, the first glass of the remaining wine was better than the previous day. Some sweet cherry fruit that was much deeper than and long-lasting than prior day. However, next (and final) glass faded quickly to just kind of a flat red house wine. Last bottle. $25.

11/22/2018 - LW31 Does not like this wine:
Rubbish wine. Overdone and too heavy. Not worth the wait. Cellar clearing out...
