Deeply colored. Nearly opaque. It even looks concentrated. It offers aromas of motor oil, liquid smoke and spice. This opens big with blackberry, warm stones and dried herb. This shows some alcohol and there is a little grip. The dark fruit seems to smolder and lingers on the finish. This offers a lot for the price. 92

Jackpot. Rustic, but everything in its place. Single vineyard Napa, great winemaker, and $25? Dang.
Chunky, funky, loamy, smoky, spicy, prickly. Packed with all the reasons that one drinks Syrah. Pure focused fruit is perfectly integrated. Herbal streak (thyme, rosemary) adds interest. Long finish. Begging for a fine cigar.
Overall, feels case-worthy given the price and quality. Moreover, has the bones to evolve over at least a decade. Very highly recommended, if available (~300 cases).

Siduri/Novy at the Dallas Zoo (The Dallas Zoo, Giants of the Savannah Exhibit): Pretty much opaque dark garnet in the glass. Rather smoky and funky nose with a peppery nuance. On the palate this has a bit of tannin and more smoky dark fruit. I actually preferred the regular Napa Valley Syrah to the single vineyard version at this tasting.
