Large meniscus in the glass and some substantial sediment in the bottle, nice to see with the man-made cork. Dark cherry and lots of earth, very appealing, good acidity to match with grilled tuna. Last and best of a case of various 2005 Ken Wright's purchased on release. Think this is at its apex.

after struggling with a few bordeaux/burgundies that didn't live up to expectations this past week, i was in the mood for something accessible and this hit the spot. might have resulted in me giving it an extra point or two.
i can't disagree too vociferously with the people here who gave it a lower score, though i wouldn't call it so jammy that you get tired of it....it was definitely not that kind of drinking experience. the wine was open, lush and had good acidity so I was happy from start to finish.

(Ken Wright Pinot Noir Shea Vineyard) Deep black red color, darkest of the flight; intriguing deep plummy nose with floral notes; tasty, rich, concentrated red fruit with integrated oak; medium-plus finish (should age very well)

Stunning bottle of Pinot Noir. Wish I had saved more of this!

Notes of plum, dark fruit, cherry and earth. Cherry and earthy dark fruit on the palate. Finishes with good length and balance.

Lighter than I expect from a Shea. A bit flabby. I don't know if it was just this bottle or the wine. Had some nice earthy notes.
