An elegant and precise offering! It offers effusive floral and fruit notes, along with dark chocolate, and molasses. Of the three '11 Vintage Ports tasted recently, however, this featured the greatest expression of black earth and mineral ores, a bell ringer!
Seamless middle, back, and finish transitions. Powerful structure and mind-bending range. This earth-driven offering can age and compete with the bigger names in this vintage. Let it rest. Should curiosity come calling during the next several years, recommend an 8+ hour decant. Improvement seems possible. 95-96.

Has a lot of potential but needs more time. Had good depth and texture on the back end with a mostly single dark fruit note at the front. I look forward to tasting my next bottle in a decade or so.

Like so many Ports of this stellar vintage, this wine drinks like a bold red, which just happens to have some sweetness, packs serious acid and tannin, and wears its alcohol exceptionally well. The liquefied black rock suspension, another calling card of the vintage, also shows beautifully here. This wine over-achieves in every measurable category. Striking now, but unlikely to enter an optimal drinking window in less than twenty years, perhaps twenty-five or thirty. 96-97!

Drank on man trip ‘19, slightly chilled. Licorice with tons of fruit boosting the intensity. Still holding great acidity with a finish for miles. Alcohol integrated perfectly with a solid tannic structure. Would definitely buy again, still has a long way to go!
