A gorgeous Cornas entering an early drinking window, and so much more expressive and complete than a bottle from ~5 years ago. Lovely classic aromas black fruit, smoked game, olive and ground pepper. Rich and dense on the palate with moderately coarse tannin that are well meshed with the fruit. Great Cornas that has a long life ahead.

Very nicely developed over the last ~8 years since I bought these. The hue is still a very youthful and primary deep ruby and it brims with sweet, saucy blueberry fruit with lots of vivid tapenade. The tannins are silky and refined. On release I called this textbook Cornas but you're not going to see anything this polished in the textbooks. But it still has the power.

1st of 3. Opened 4hrs prior to dinner. Slox-oxed in 2 Burg glasses & btl till dinner. Fairly open early but the extra air surely enhanced everything! Semi translucent ruby red. Expansive nose w/ rock infused; dark berries, meat notes & spice. Even more impressive is the svelte, delineated palate where the fruit burst in your mouth absent even a trace of jam or excess. This is very classy, almost Burg like syrah with a ton of class and intrigue. This reminds me quite a lot of the last glass I had of Thierry Allemand's outstanding Cornas but, a 1/3rd the cost. 14.5% alc went unnoticed. Delighted to have a couple more 12s and 10s!

Chunky dark fruited syrah, this definitely needs food and, more preferably, another 5-10 years.

Hold. This is a good drink but would drink the 2010s first and hold on to these!
