Nose dark cherry fruit starting to show hints of down slope. Tobacco. Dusty tannins. Somewhat out of balance with excess ripeness. Lacks the complexity I’d like in nsg.

Lots of foresty underbrush, animale notes, still elegant and funky forest fruits and perfume notes. Enjoyed much, and went well with Italian, from pesto to mushroom pasta to beef carpacio. Celestino Monopole dinner

Nice wine that is drinking well. Balanced and elegant. Not especially complex, but rich and enjoyable. Was lovely with a salmon steak. Black cherry and mineral.

This wine was superb. Different than pinot's from the Williamette Valley, which I'm a big fan. superior to anything from CA. Was comparing it to my favorite pinot from Oregon, Shea's Block 23. Lighter, with much more subtle complexity. Hints of cherry & strawberry, with a marvelous mid palette and finish. I just bought more of this to lay down, though it probably won't make it, I'll easily consume this sometime soon :)

Bottle shows big fruit, classic 03 notes, still, classic Potel masculinity, tannins, minerals. Well made wine, too ripe a year to get a higher rating.
