Decanted for three hours. Very tight and unexpressive at first but gradually opened up. Quite complex, with notes of cherry, plum, tar, tobacco, olive, and mild spices. This is still very primary and I am very glad to have another bottle to cellar away for at least 5+ years.
As mentioned by other reviewers, PnPing this bottle is probably not the best route. Patience is a virtue in this case: the two glasses I saved for the following night were easily the best.

So I have to disagree with the prevailing sentiment here - this was an excellent bottle of Brunello. From magnum - incredibly tannic when opened, but with lots of fruit and acidity to support it. Decanted 3 hours and drank over the following two. After a decant this was beautifully balanced. Brick red, concentrated, and full bodied. Dark cherry and raspberries lead, followed by cedar, tobacco, leather.
I must stress that this is not a PnP bottle. It needs some time in the decanter, but it's drinking beautifully right now. The fruit, acid, and tannins would lead me to believe this can cruise in the cellar for a while, but I have one more magnum of this, and I'll likely be opening it in the next year or two - with high expectations.

I agree pretty much with tasting note from RobMCL920 … nose is nice ; but end with aggressive tannins not very nice and don’t think it has improved over the past 2 years Not what I expected after delicious 2010

The wine looks ruby colored with slight purple to it. The legs are medium. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like prune, stoniness, petrol, mineral, cedar, vanilla, black pepper, leesy and black currant (cassis). It tastes like strawberry, raspberry, black pepper, cinnamon, petrol and mineral. The body is full. The wine has angular texture, can lean down for another 5~10 years. The wine finishes long. The wine has 4 acidity, 4 tannin.
